Dan Berger is Cartoonist behind Natural News

Patrick Swayze’s death came as a shock to many people. But not to his own cancer doctor: they know that the five-year survival rates of people being treated with chemotherapy for pancreatic cancer are virtually zero. And Swayze was only the latest in a long list of celebrities dying after being treated with chemotherapy and other toxic forms of western medicine…

… The reason so many celebrities are harmed or killed by the cancer industry is quite simple: the cancer industry is a for-profit business. It makes money by treating cancer, not by curing or preventing cancer…

Bad Science
Cancer Cures
How do we know if a treatment works, or if something causes cancer? Can the claims of homeopaths ever be as true – or as interesting as the improbable research into the placebo effect? Who created the MMR hoax? Do journalists understand science? Why do we seek scientific explanations for social, personal and political problems? Are alternative therapists and the pharmaceutical companies really so different, or do they just use the same old tricks to sell different types of pill? We are obsessed with our health. And yet – from the media’s ‘world-expert microbiologist’ with a mail-order PhD in his garden shed laboratory, via multiple health scares and miracle cures, to the million pound trial that Durham Council now denies ever existed – we are constantly bombarded with inaccurate, contradictory and sometimes even misleading information. Until now. Ben Goldacre masterfully dismantles the dodgy science behind some of the great drug trials, court cases and missed opportunities of our time, but he also goes further: out of the bulls—, he shows us the fascinating story of how we know what we know, and gives us the tools to uncover bad science for ourselves.

Ben Goldacre is Britain’s finest writer on the science behind medicine, and ‘Bad Science’ is the UK Sunday Times top ten bestseller

Ganoderma zonatum on Cabbage Palm
natural cures
I believe this is Ganoderma zonatum, the pathogen that causes "butt-rot fungus" in palms. This is one of several basidiocarps on the base of a freshly-dead cabbage palm (Sabal palmetto). The fungus effects the lower portion of the trunks, hence the common name. There is no prevention or cure at this time.

134/365 – Pumpkin Bundt Cake with Caramel Cream Cheese Frosting

A few nice natural cures images I found:

134/365 – Pumpkin Bundt Cake with Caramel Cream Cheese Frosting
natural cures
So, three days after selecting a food shot for my 365, thinking that I haven’t posted too many food shots, I end up selecting…

another food shot.

Didn’t really spend a lot of time taking pictures today. Got a few shots of the kids making breakfast for my wife this morning, but in my precaffeinated state I didn’t think to actually, y’know, use the flashes I’ve been playing with nonstop for the last few weeks. While the shots I got were great for the family album, I didn’t think any of them worth posting. Grabbed a few candids while we were visiting my in-laws for Mother’s Day, including this shot of the dessert I made this morning for the occasion.

We were due to go shopping and were low on several supplies, so this was a see-what’s-in-the-pantry recipe, put together off-the-cuff this morning. Started with a can of pumpkin purée and a basic 2:2:1:1 flour:liquid🍳fat quick bread ratio (à la Michael Ruhlman—I can’t recommend his latest few books highly enough: Ratio, Charcuterie, and Ruhlman’s Twenty), and landed here. As usual, I took notes, and the recipe I ended up with is below.

Photography-wise, this was nothing but a snapshot on my in-laws’ back porch in the shade. Threw the camera into aperture priority and took a few quick ones.

Nikon D7000 w/Nikkor 18-200mm @ 56mm, 1/125s @ ƒ/8 (Aperture priority), ISO500 (auto ISO mode). Natural light. White balance corrected, boosted vibrance, and cropped in Aperture.

Ingredients

For the cake

12 oz. all-purpose flour
3 oz. light brown sugar
3 oz. granulated sugar
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. fresh-ground black pepper
1 tsp. ground ginger
3 tbl. finely minced candied ginger
10 oz. pumpkin purée
1 c. whole milk
6 oz. (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
3 eggs
1/4 c. vegetable oil
2 tbl. bourbon
1 tsp. vanilla extract

For the frosting

1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. water
1/2 c. heavy cream
1 tbl. corn syrup
1 tbl. + 1 tsp. bourbon
1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese, room temperature

Directions

For the cake

Note: you might want to make the frosting for the caramel first, to allow it time to cool while the cake bakes.

Preheat your oven to 350°F with a rack in the lower-middle position.

Prepare a 10" (5 c.) Bundt pan by spraying with nonstick cooking spray or by greasing and flouring it well. Be sure to get all the nooks and crannies to ensure that the cake releases cleanly.

Put the flour, sugars, baking powder, salt, spices, and candied ginger in a large mixing bowl and whisk to combine completely. (Optionally, you can add 1 c. of toasted chopped pecans for a little extra texture and flavor.)

In another bowl, put the pumpkin, milk, eggs, melted butter, oil, bourbon, and vanilla and whisk to combine.

Pour the wet ingredients over the dry ingredients, and mix until no dry streaks remain.

Pour the batter into the prepared Bundt pan, shake a bit to level, then bake 40-50 minutes until a skewer inserted in the cake emerges clean. Remove from the oven, cool for 5-10 minutes, then remove from the pan and allow to cool completely.

For the frosting

In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, water, and corn syrup, and place over high heat. Add 1 tbl. of the bourbon to the heavy cream. Without moving the pan, heat the sugar syrup to boiling, and watch it carefully.

When it begins to change color, gently swirl the pan until the sugar caramelizes and turns a dark amber color. As soon as the color is right, remove from the heat, and immediately pour in the heavy cream. Be careful! This will bubble, hiss, and foam up, and the caramel is extremely hot.

Return to medium heat and whisk just until the caramel is completely dissolved into the cream. Set aside to cool to room temperature.

When cooled, put the cream cheese in a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment and beat until smooth. Add 1/2 of the caramel and the last 1 tsp. of bourbon, and beat to combine completely. You’ll need to scrape the sides down once or twice to get everything. (This can be done with a hand mixer or even by hand just as well, albeit needing a little more time and/or effort.)

When the cake is cooled to room temperature, frost with the caramel cream cheese. Drizzle the remaining caramel sauce over the top and serve.

Natural Cures For Fibromyalgia Vs Modern Medicine

Have you tried natural cures for fibromyalgia or are you relying on medical practices? If you are suffering with fibromyalgia, then it’s not necessary to rehash for you everything you already know about how debilitating this condition is. My intent here is to expand upon why you need to take natural cures for fibromyalgia seriously.

Life without Natural Cures for Fibromyalgia

1. The thought of relying on medications to treat my fibromyalgia symptoms doesn’t sit well with me. Have you seen the television commercials promoting certain medications these days? I don’t know what’s worse, my symptoms from fibromyalgia or the side effects of the drugs used to treat them. The commercial always portrays a better life from using a particular drug, then it provides a lengthy list of side effects. They include: lightheadedness, blurry vision, weight gain, sleepiness, difficulty concentrating, swelling of hands and feet, dry mouth, and feeling high. Now these are listed as the most common side effects. Let us not forget you need to seek urgent medical attention should you encounter swelling of your face, mouth, lips, gums, tongue, or neck, trouble breathing, rash, hives, or blisters. While we’re noting potential hazards, do not get behind the wheel of a car, operate machines, or participate in any activity that may involve risk until you know how you react to your medicine. You may also experience suicidal thoughts, increased depression, or unusual changes in your mood and behavior. Since there are so many potential side effects, wouldn’t it make sense to question what in the world are we putting into our body in the first place?

2. Often times choosing to get started with medications can create a snowball effect. It is not uncommon for people to begin taking a certain medicine, and soon they find them self needing multiple prescriptions. The first few drugs were given for an actual condition, but the rest were prescribed to counteract the side effects from the first drugs. Before you know it, you can’t remember what symptoms are related to your condition and what symptoms are results of the drugs you take. How do you really know if what you are taking is safe? How much do you know about the long term health risks involved with certain drugs? Are you depending on your physician for that information? Before you answer those questions, reflect on how many times you’ve seen prescriptions being pulled off the market. Even worse, reading about cases where medications were prematurely given approval, although studies deemed them to be unsafe has also happened.

Why Consider Natural Cures For Fibromyalgia?

Making the decision to choose natural cures for fibromyalgia is really a decision to choose health over sickness. Making a decision to focus on health means you work towards balancing your body by giving it what it needs and requires. You are choosing to focus on prevention rather than treating symptoms. Most medicines are not designed to cure; they are designed to manage symptoms. Since medications obviously won’t cure fibromyalgia, wouldn’t it seem more logical to pinpoint the reason for your pain and solve the problem, even though it might take some trial and error with natural solutions?

With my own personal study of natural cures for fibromyalgia, I found research regarding the “Blue Zones” to be quite beneficial. If you’re not familiar, blue zone are places where the inhabitants are living longer and healthier lives than most of the worlds population. You’ll discover they are not living better because their medicine cabinet is filled with drugs. Another fact is that the people don’t live on processed or convenience foods. You’ll also find fibromyalgia is not commonplace among these areas, as it is in the US.

Why Do Natural Cures For Fibromyalgia Work?

Since there are still no conclusive studies available for the cause of fibromyalgia, you will always read conflicting information. Some say it is inflammatory, while others claim it is not.. Is it related to a vitamin or mineral deficiency or is it related to something neurological?. What I can tell you from my experience, is that my fibromyalgia symptoms were completely related to my diet and lifestyle. Furthermore, when I focused more on health and prevention, my symptoms disappeared. Since there is no single common denominator among fibromyalgia patients, it is logical to me to address the areas of deficiency for people first, which is why I believe natural cures for fibromyalgia are so effective.

Natural Cures for Fibromyalgia that Triggered My Recovery

1. Supplements with anti-inflammatory properties. Inflammation presses on nerves causing pain and is your body’s natural defense against injury, but doesn’t it make sense to eliminate this as a possible source of your pain?.

2. Consume enough antioxidants. Antioxidants in basic terms, helps to reduce the natural effects of oxidation in our bodies which leads to disease and premature aging. Oxidation damages our cells, giving disease an open door to flourish, not to mention advancing the age of our body more rapidly, so adding an antioxidant helps in your defense against this process. You can do more research and learn about how ORAC relates, so you can choose the best antioxidant.

3. Omega 3 Fatty Acids. Omega 3 fatty acids are needed by the body, and the only way to get them is by consuming them. If you don’t consume a diet rich in fish and nuts, you need to supplement. Omega 3 is beneficial for the prevention of various diseases such as heart disease, cancer, arthritis, and other inflammatory conditions. It is also linked to better mood and brain function.

4. Take a multivitamin. Choosing the right vitamins is essential to restoring the balance within the body, because you need to ensure you are absorbing what you need, and not absorbing what you don’t. The majority of people are consuming foods completely devoid of the valuable nutrients our bodies need, which is why taking a supplement is paramount to natural cures for fibromyalgia.

5. Drink plenty of good quality water. Adequate hydration is vital to our health. Chronic dehydration is a bigger problem than you may think, and is linked to the onset of many types of chronic conditions and diseases. You should be drinking at least half of your body weight in ounces per day. My personal water source is ionized alkaline water since it contains natural minerals, better absorption, adjustable pH, and is antioxidant rich.

Natural Cures for Fibromyalgia Requires Lifestyle Changes

Besides using supplementation as your natural cures for fibromyalgia, you should also eat better and get plenty of exercise. A person’s health can’t flourish by taking vitamins and then ordering a burger and fries from your local fast food joint on a regular basis. Adequate exercise isn’t for the purpose of vanity, it is an essential ingredient to being successful with improving your health. It is my absolute belief that we can significantly reduce the number of people suffering from this condition if we simply educate them about natural cures for fibromyalgia. This goes beyond theory personally. I know because I am a walking testimony and have been pain free for almost a decade!

This article is not intended to treat, diagnose, cure, or make any specific claims, it is simply an expression of my personal opinion and testimony.

Jodi Ouellette is a Fibromyalgia survivor, as well as an expert in the healthy home industry. She has been helping people transform their health for almost a decade. Gain a better understanding of the passion Jodi has about this debate by watching this controversial video now.

Natural Removal Methods You Can Use In Your Home

Moles are thought to be skin growths that could develop on just about any location on your body. This skin condition is caused once nevus cells grow in a cluster and produce moles and pigment on your skin. Although these moles are usually harmless, they can become dangerous if they develop into a skin cancer known as melanoma. There are plenty of treatment options accessible that you could utilize to get rid of moles on your own.

One of these treatment techniques involves utilizing bloodroot salve. To use this treatment effectively you need to use a Q-tip and cover the entire infected area with the bloodroot salve. Once you have applied the bloodroot you should put a bandage over the mole to cover it up. You could utilize an adhesive bandage created from a strip of plastic or fabric with gauze inside the center.

Reapply the bloodroot until your mole is finally at the same level as the surrounding skin. You should begin to notice some good results within the first week of this treatment. The treatment shouldn’t take longer than a month to work.

An additional method you may make use of to eliminate moles on your own is to cut off the roots of freshly picked dandelions. Now rub the root on the infected area until the juices from the dandelions leak out and cover your mole. You should use this treatment for about one time each day for about three weeks.

If you desire to eliminate moles on your own you may utilize garlic. Garlic is something that has been used for many years by a lot of different skin problems. To use garlic to remove your moles you should crush up a few garlic cloves until they turn into a paste. Now apply this paste to your moles and do this on a daily basis. You will need to repeat this treatment for a few weeks until the mole is completely gone.

Finally, you can soak your mole in some warm water for about 20 minutes. Now dry the affected region and apply apple cider vinegar making use of a cotton ball and let it stay on the affected area for at least fifteen minutes. After the 15 minutes you can remove the apple cider vinegar with water and allow it to dry.
